Highlights of the Event:
> The objective of the programme was to raise awareness among local youth on snake and first aid to snakebite
> 10 future green leaders from local villages had participated in this programme conducted by Naturenomics™ School.
The one-day programme was conducted at the Naturenomics™ School, Eastern Himalayan Botanic Ark on 4 th March, 2019. Ten local youth from Lokra had participated in the programme. After viewing a brief documentary on the journey of the Eastern Himalayan Botanic Ark, our snake education expert, Gautam Baruah conducted a programme on ‘Snake bite Management’. He guided the participants on the difference between venomous and non-venomous snakes found in the region and also demonstrated primary steps to be taken in case of a snake bite. The programme concluded with in-depth conversations and discussions with the villagers to clarify false myths and beliefs associated with snakes.
