The RuFu® Lab was launched in 2020 in Baligaon
Green Village in Sonitpur district, Assam. With a
community dedicated to sustainability, the Lab is an
experiment in sustainable agroforestry and natural asset
creation for sustainable revenue towards creating
Universal Basic Assets, such as education and
healthcare.
The controlled environment of Baligaon green village in
Sonitpur district of Assam has been the best site with
solid research case studies to architect the first RuFu lab.
The RuFu lab aims to create monitored soil-water-air
sustainable revenue models over thirty years. Through
this pilot programme, we aim to test the Rural Futures
hypothesis of Universal Basic Assets for the forest fringe
communities, through the enhancement of our Natural
Assets.
