Dr. Sonam Wangyel

Dr. Sonam Wangyel Wang is a research professor and a socio-
environmental scientist with special interest in understanding the
fundamentals of human-environmental interface and the impact of
climate change on this relationship to guide policy decisions.
Academically he has earned his PhD from Cornell and Oxford Universities
and has a master’s in public administration from Harvard University.
He also worked for the Royal Government of Bhutan as the head of
national parks and as the Director of the Bhutan Royal Education
Council. In addition, he has worked as a consultant to national and
international agencies.
Dr. Om Katel
Dr Om Katel is a faculty member at the College of Natural Resources, Royal
University of Bhutan and teaches climate change adaptation, Natural
Resources Management, and interested on research areas within the domain
of land use change, ecosystem services, and community livelihoods. Dr Katel
is a visiting researcher at the Nagoya University in Japan. Currently Mr. Katel
is serving as a Dean of Research and Industrial Linkages at the College of
Natural Resources, Royal University of Bhutan.
Dr. Pema Choephyel
Dr. Pema Choephyel is the Chief Officer of Bhutan Trust Fund for Env
Conservation and has a professional background in agriculture and forest
management, research, and now funding with many projects relating to
forests and community development.
Ugyen Namgyel
Umgyen Namgyel is the Head, Nature Conservation Section in
Bumthang Forest Division, Bhutan. He has been extensively
engaged in research work in embracing interior zoning paradigm for
scientific wildlife management interventions, effective waste
management along the highway involving pertinent conservation
partners in Bhutan’s Phrumsengla National Park, ecological survey
many more. He has also authored and co-authored various
publications and has 21 published titles under his name.
