Dr. Mohammad Zabed Hossain’s area of research is a combination of plant and molecular ecology and environmental biology. While he is a Professor at the Department of Botany in the prestigious University of Dhaka, he is also actively researching on plant-microbe interactions, abiotic stresses on plants and adaption mechanisms in plants. He has a total of 42 published research papers in various reputed journals like Elsevier, Springer and Nova science publishers. In 2007, he received a grant from the University of Japan to work on the Ecological relationships between plant and soil microbial communities in grasslands: Structural and functional linkages and since then has worked on several other projects, under several other academic institutions, in his domain.
