Rudrangshu Mukherjee, Ashoka University, India

Rudrangshu Mukherjee, lovingly called Rudy by his contemporaries, is a renowned Indian historian. His diverse portfolio of work has time and again addressed the changing facets of India’s history and politics. He has authored several major history books like Art of Bengal: A Vision Defined, 1955-75 and Nehru and Bose: Parallel Lives, which is his latest and has also edited books like The Penguin Gandhi Reader (Delhi, 1993), Trade and Politics and the Indian Ocean World: Essays in Honour of Ashin Das Gupta (Delhi, 1998) and Remembered Childhood: Essays in Honour of Andre Beteille. Rudrangshu Mukherjee, currently the chancellor of Ashoka University, also serves as Professor of History for the University and has been a part of several academic institutions across the globe like Princeton University, University of Calcutta, University of Manchester, and University of California
