Lt Gen Arun Kumar Sahni, India
Lt Gen Arun Kumar Sahni is a decorated soldier, with 40 years of commissioned service in the Indian Army. He is experienced in command and staff assignments, in India’s most disputed areas to deal with both external and internal security challenges. His unabashed leadership quality has helped him motivate his teams even in the most dire of situations. In the recent years, Lt. Gen. Arun Sahni has been very vocal about global peacekeeping. He represented the country as a military delegate at UN Headquarters at Geneva for the international conference debating banning of land mines. Lt. Gen. Arun Sahni’s work has not gone unrecognized. In 1976, he was awarded the President’s Gold medal and also the ‘Sword of Honour’. He has also received the ‘Uttam Yudh Seva’ medal for his exceptional skills and courage. He has also been conferred the coveted Param Vishist Seva Medal, by the President of India, for sustained meritorious service. Today, he is an instructor at various military academies within India to impart basic and specialized trainings to the youth who look forward to leading our country. Lt Gen. Arun Sahni has also been actively participating and speaking at various seminars and conclaves such as the CII and YPO, on diverse subjects.
