Arupjyoti Saikia, IIT-Guwahati, India
Since 2001, Dr. Arupjyoti Saikia has been in the teaching profession. With a keen interest in Indian history, he has extensively researched on peasant unrest, economy and agrarian society in the Brahmaputra valley between 1945-52. Some of his current research falls under the broad areas of social and environmental history like ‘Assam after WW2: Political History of an Indian State’. He has authored five books and co-authored several others. He also has over 15 published research papers for various reputed journals.
