Phalong Village in Manipur declared as Amur Falcon Village

Phalong village, Tamenglong, in Manipur has been officially declared as an Amur Falcon Village by the government of Manipur on 26th November 2015, after acknowledging the villagers efforts to conserve the bird species.

The announcement was made by the Additional Chief Conservator of Forest, K Angam, in the presence of the Chief Minister Ibobi Singh and other important figures of the state, during an awareness campaign held at the village.

The village was awarded with a sum of Rs.50, 000 for its contribution to protect and conserve migratory birds and wildlife.
