Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics™ Forum 2016

8th & 9th November 2016 Guwahati, Assam, India

The Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics™ Forum 2016 (EHNF ‘16) is the evolutionary outcome spanning three years, covering three editions of the Balipara Foundation Environmental Awards (2013-14-15) and two editions of the ‘Asian Elephant in the Wild’ Conferences (2014-15). Over the last three years, our events have primarily focused on Asian Elephants attracting participation from 30+ Countries and 50+ Organizations including Governments, NGOs, Corporates, Civil Societies, Universities and others.

We are now broadening our scope and deepening our search for pragmatic, multi-disciplinary conservation solutions in the Eastern Himalayan Region!

Why the Shift?

Conservation Dialogues are often dominated by conversations of how we are failing. We want to change the dialogue to “How can we look outside the public sector and bring in more voices to the table?” To this end Representations from disciplines such as Media, Technology, Sociology, Education & Business are often under-represented.

The shift in format is an effort to involve multi-disciplinary stakeholders into conservation dialogue by providing a common platform for the exchange of diverse perspectives on specific conservation topics and themes.
