Apparel donated to Kaziranga forest guards

Kaziranga National park, a world heritage site and home of several endangered species, has 1085 rhinos, 1246 elephants, 86 tigers, besides swamp deers, sambars, wild hogs and varied species of reptiles and birds. Protection of the rich flora and fauna of the area is definitely an imperative and a challenging task.
The forest guards mandated with protecting the forests carry out their tasks in inhospitable terrain and adverse climatic conditions. Their well-being and high moral ought to be given importance, if we consider protecting the forests. Balipara Tract and Frontier Foundation along with Wildlife Conservation Trust and the founders and management of Wild Grass supported by Assam Forest Department on December 4, donated 700 sets of winter apparel among the staff of Kaziranga national Park comprising of the Forest Department's frontline personnel, home guards, Assam Forest Protection Force and casual workers.
The apparel sets consisting of a jacket, a pair of boots and two pairs of warm socks were given away in three separate lots individually in the Central, Western and Eastern ranges by members of Balipara Tract and Frontier Foundation, accompanied by park Director SN Buraghoin an other officials from the Forest Department.
"This is small step to recognize, salute, applaud and support the Kaziranga Staff, who are the protectors of our inheritance and have created unparalleled benchmarks in the area of Wildlife Conservation and Protection. Their commitment diligence and bravery is unsurpassed in most parts of the world and it would be our constant endeavour to continue to uplift the well being of this special team of people" said in a press release by Prabir Banerjee, managing trustee of Balipara Tract and Frontier Foundation.
