Guwahati: Miss Japan 2016 Priyanka Yoshikawa said on Thursday that she will visit Kaziranga and Manas national parks to enrich her knowledge of nature and elephants.

Priyanka, 23, who is the brand ambassador of Balipara Foundation, is in the city to take part in the Eastern Himalayas Naturenomics Forum. The event is being organised by the foundation on Thursday and Friday.

As Miss Japan, 23-year-old Priyanka Yoshikawa last year became only the second woman of mixed race to represent the country of her birth at an international pageant.

Her crowning had created a stir in a country where barely two per cent biracial babies are born in a year.
