On 4th of September, we conducted first training programme on ecotourism for people who came from Baligaon Mishing Village. It was a very unique experience for all of us since it was the first time. We started the programme with EHBA presentation followed by Bird and butterflies identification techniques and importance. We have provided them too many ideas on the scopes of ecotourism and many possibilities of developing ecotourism in their village. We also suggested to acquire ecotourism as a livelihood in future.

  1. They are very much interested to implement some techniques learnt from the programme like introduction of a trail, developing bird watching site, developing the pond in their village for fishery, boating etc.

  2. We were happy to see their curiosity for conserving aquatic and threatened plant species after knowing their importance delivered by Pinaki.

  3. They told us about various spots in their village for ecotourism.

  4. They also told us about the myth behind the establishment of a temple (Namghor) in their village which they want to show to the visitors.

  5. They want our full support and help to initiate the process which we have accepted.

  6. They invited us to their village for pointing out more ideas and more things that can be done for developing ecotourism in Baligaon.

  7. They also requested us to present everything before all the villagers to make them understand the concept more clearly so that they can coordinate to develop and showcase their GREEN VILLAGE in front of the visitors.
