Smile India to initiate Cleft Care Missions in making a Assam State a
Cleft Free State
The first mission of Operation Smile was held in 2009 at MMC Hospital in Guwahati, Assam
Till date Operation Smile has held four international cleft lip and cleft palate mission in Guwahati with free medical evaluation provided to over 3,533 individuals while changing the lives of 1,860 children and young adults.
The 1st mission in January, 2009 treated 158 patients
The recent mission in February, 2010 treated 957 patients, this mission was a milestone achievement as it was the single biggest mission conducted by Operation Smile in its 27 years history anywhere in the World.
